z/XDC makes IBM's z/OS-based Assembler, C/C++ and Metal C languages easier to work with and understand. Using z/XDC, programmers can effectively find and fix bugs in Assembler, C/C++ and Metal C programs running in nearly any z/OS® programming environment. z/XDC's command set offers users considerable control over the debugging process. z/XDC's displays of program code, data areas, and control structures are comprehensive, well designed, and highly readable. z/XDC's "mapping" capabilities give users access to all program related commentary and symbols, including Assembler statement labels and DSECT maps. z/XDC also supports a broad range of techniques for trapping and tracing program execution.

  Has the ability to interactively debug your programs in real time. Can change code, alter data fields, zap register values, and control your program's PSW. You can load and delete modules, issue GETMAINs and FREEMAINs, and even post Event Control Blocks. For trapping, z/XDC offers six kinds of hooks and breakpoints, including deferred breakpoints, and conditional breakpoints. z/XDC allows you to trap execution based on conditional statements, and allows the association of other commands with breakpoints and traces. Support for IBM's limited support for above-the-bar programs; Consequent support for 128-bit PSWs; Internal architectural adjustments for the new OS release;
